Dear Ms Sim,
I would like to provide an update for this matter.
Kumaran (HDB), Ameen and Johnathan from HBPTC who have been co-ordinating with various parties, putting in effort to solve the vibrating tap issue last month. In between, they have also offered to replace the faulty tap which we appreciate very much.
It's a pity that house visit has been put on hold. If not, I would like to thank you personally for always paying attention to residents' issue and ensuring our concerns are looked into. It's great having you as our MP. :)

During the recent resident visit, my husband had a conversation with you and shared our concern of the security issue for the dark corridor infront of our 5-room unit. We are thankful that you have look into this matter and send the officer (Jolene) and electrician to install a light tube infront of our unit today. The electrician has done a good job.
We are very much appreciative for your swift action and now we have a bright corridor which is definitely very much better especially when our daughters came home late. We would like to share with you the attached pictures which was taken before and after the installations for your reference.

As a new resident at Segar Palmview estate, I would like to compliment on the efficiency provided by the Town Council staff, Ms Gladys.
I have recently purchased a resale apartment and realised that the wall outside the door along the corridor was painted pink colour by the previous owner. After getting in touch with the Town Council, they have the wall painted the next day even though the estate is due for re-painting works soon. The efficiency took me by surprise as I have offered to get my ID to paint if it is too much of a hassle.
Furthermore, I have been the estate for numerous times and realised the environment is well kept.
As such, would like to applaud the efforts done by the Town Council for taking care of the residents need promptly.

Dear Town Council,
I am a Resident at Block 6 Ghim Moh Road. I recently encountered a rat in my unit. I don't ever think there would be any chance of a rat coming into my unit. I have never encountered such incident for the past 20 years staying here.
So, this being the first time. We called in town council to advise us on what to do. Ms Joy was in charge of this case. She really handled the case very well in a professional way. She was doing her job and putting things upfront to us and at the same time she felt empathetic towards our unforeseen situation. She did her best, she explained to us. She even dropped by our unit to get a better view. I really feel she has done a very good job. She really deserves to be awarded. Honestly can't see much people like her anymore in this customer relations line. Kudos Joy. Keep it up!

Yesterday (1st February 2021) at 3.45 pm. I parked my car at the loading/unloading area of BLK 470 Segar road to deliver a pot of orchids to my sister. When I returned at 4 pm, a large tree branch had fallen over my car, covering the whole bonnet area. Fortunately the town council officer Gigi was making her inspection round. She quickly spoke to Cynthia and also got the help of 2 male workers to remove the tree branches.
I would like to express my appreciation to these town council officers and workers for their timely assistance and efficiency. Good Job!!

Hi I have been staying at Toh Yi Drive for about 2 years now. I would like to compliment Conservancy Supervisor Mr Habib and his team (LS2 company) for their excellent support and services so far.
We always manage to get prompt responses whether for bulky item removal, help with water plumbing and other issues encountered during renovations. Also, I note that they do a very meticulous job in cleaning the corridors and the whole estate in general. Sometimes, there are items lying around the corridors (slippers etc) and I noticed that they bother to place the items properly elsewhere before continuing their cleaning (instead of just avoiding the area which is what other cleaners may do to rush through their job).
The team is always hardworking and has a good attitude, smiling when they see us, etc. All in all, they make this a very pleasant environment.
Please tell them to keep it up and continue their good work. Thanks!

Dear Mr Liang,
I'm writing to let you know how much I appreciate the efficiency of our Town Council staff. On Tuesday, 27th Oct., I notice and feedback on damage, the connecting pathway, between block 441 and Fajar Shopping Centre. Popping tiles that poses danger if residents were to kick and cut or injured their feet.
Within 48 hours, yesterday evening the repair was done. Please see photo attached.

My family and I would like to extend our appreciations to Mr Ong Eng Huat of Holland Bukit Panjang Town Council and the Supervisor, Habib and his team of colleagues from LS 2 Services Pte Ltd for their help on 29 Oct 2020.
The lift at my mother's block will shut down for maintenance/enhancement. During which, my wheelchair-bound mother has medical appointment with SGH. Mr. Ong had kindly arranged his colleagues to carry my mother in her wheelchair down from 3rd floor and back up after her appointment. My mother was overweight and that was no easy task. We are really grateful and touched by their act.
Having lived in Toh Yi Estate for the past 32 years, i find time and again these team of workers going beyond their basic duty of keeping the estate clean. They will not hesitate to assist the residents when the needs arise. Other example was when different cleaner came to my assistance whenever they see me carrying stuff to the bin centre.

Her works have not gone unnoticed by committee members of the Toh Yi RN management and the TY residents. She has always been able to find appropriate solutions quick wittedly for any situations arise. Her related experiences are commendable for liaising and coordinating with different agencies, demonstrating her leadership and relationships with them.

Sorry this came late, just dropping by a message to let you know whoever’s idea in trimming off this particular tree 🌳 is REALLY good!
As my unit is on the second floor, it’s quite dark as the trees are nearby each other. Sometime it even gets to touch my window too.
But now I can see that my living room is brighter. Furthermore, we need sunlight definitely. When the trees are being trimmed, we get more fresh air too!

I would like to thank you for your time and help on this matter. At least this has prompted them to follow up with the contractor to get an ETA of end Dec 2020 for panel installation.
I find the staff at the Holland Bukit Panjang town council (like the property officer for Trivelis I encountered, Jonathan) to be more empathetic and proactive in addressing problems, even though they must also be in a difficult position at times in managing issues within the estate. If only this matter was within the purview of HBPTC. The approach taken makes a lot of difference to a resident in need of help.

In view of the circuit breaker period, we have accepted the limited conservancy services in our neighbourhood. In addition the fact that so many migrant workers are kept in quarantine, and not able to undertake their jobs, it makes what I have to say below even more important.
I would like to express my appreciation and compliments to the cleaner looking after my blk and neighbouring blocks. We have accepted that cleaning services will have to be reduced to reduce contacts. Add on to the fact many cleaning staff may be stuck in their dorms, I would like to say that there is one particular cleaner at my block who has been hardworking and dutifully fulfilling his duties and jobs.
This cleaner (whose name I do not know) is working so hard. I see him driving his towing vehicle to emptying our trash from the rubbish chutes, and also does all the sweeping, even the floor to floor sweeping of the stairways. He also sweeps the neighbourhood and really keeps the neighbourhood clean. It especially moves me when i see him working even after dark, when I know he started at dawn. And I see him managing all this work single-handedly. I saw no one else doing the work.
I don't know if he is paid extra for taking on extra duties but idefinitely feel he should! He is definitely an essential worker deserving acknowledgement, recognition and reward.
I would be grateful if you can convey my compliments to his contracting company and I would like to see him continue looking after our block and be rewarded for his dedication and excellent service!

There was a leak yesterday from the main water supply pipe serving the upper 3rd floor unit, which unfortunately, passed through my parents’ 1st floor unit. As a result, our kitchen was flooded due to the leak.
Despite the current situation surrounding COVID-19 and the many restrictions on the works/workers available, I’d like to specially thank Mr Ngo from HDB for constantly checking in with my family even though it wasn’t HDB’s case, and keeping my family updated on his liaising with TC and assuring us via WhatsApp even though it was after working hours, and also to Mr Ong from HBPTC for his assistance liaising with the TC plumbers, and also getting the upper floor unit to agree to turn off the water supply so that the flooding does not continue throughout the night.
The leak has since been resolved this morning when the workers visited us, and my family is deeply appreciative of the assistance given to us. Please keep up the good work and stay safe and healthy during this period.

Many thanks for your prompt response and diligence in following through on this issue, and in getting the lift maintenance crew to be onsite to test and resolve the rumbling sounds so quickly.
After the fix since yesterday, the lifts are quiet now in flight, and for residents like me in the stack right next to the lift shaft, it really helps a lot. Really appreciate your help. I used to stay at a block under another GRC and they normally ignore such feedback or are not very prompt, so I really respect your professionalism. Thanks again!

This afternoon (at about 3pm), I came home to my residence and was surprised to find pencil mark graffiti on the adjacent wall along the corridor outside my unit.
Looking at the ‘drawings’ on the wall, I thought it could probably be done playfully by a small child with no malice. I did not notice the drawings when I left this morning at 6.20am. I tried to engage the neighbours upstairs but to no avail so I decided to call Holland Bukit PanjangTown Council at Bangkit Road.
I spoke to Customer Service Officer “Rohaidah” and reported to her the matter.
At about 3.35pm, estate Cleaner Supervisor (apologies -I did not note his name but he is a Bangladashi) came and took photographs of the drawings on the wall. He said that he will get the wall painted. He then went upstairs to speak to the concerned unit and informed them accordingly.
Appreciate the fast response from the town council and good service.
It would be good if during routine ‘walkabout’ by the Estate Officer, could also approach new residents (especially from another country) and remind them of the do and don’ts of living in housing estate. Especially informing them that there are other residents leaving around their unit and to be considerate.
I also attached a photo of the estate cleaners re-painting the wall at 4pm.

We would like to express our appreciation and commendation to Mr. Rawi of Holland, Bukit Panjang TC for his initiative, excellent and efficient job, for removing the dangerous metal rod (20cm, diameter 1cm) extruded vertically from the ground left behind by the previous contractor.
This is happened to be at the site of The State Land beside block 101 below railway track. I have expected him to arrange with relevant department, yet this job is carried out within 24 hours with his initiative by mobilising his man power.
He shows his concern for the safety of residents and sense of urgency though the land belongs to the state. His extra effort has increase the productivity and avoid possible injury of residents. His extra effort and initiative have made himself different from other officers. He has also set a good for other officers and certainly deserved to be commended.
We also attach the photo of the metal rod.
We also share our appreciation with HDB and Dr Tan Wu Meng of neighbouring JCTC.

We recently had some problem with turning on our water mains which subsequently leaked.
I would like to thank those involved in helping us to sort out our issues.
The person (Angela) who took our call promptly arranged for someone to attend to our problems. The maintenance guys turned up within an hour. And there was a Mr Ong who called up to check if issues were rectified.

I would like to thank Mr Azmi for following up on the matter & has brought the contractor at the same time with him to see if they could instantaneously rectified the problem matter. This was done probably 2 weeks back. As I was then tied up with work, could only now write my appreciation to him. Thank you very much Mr Azmi.
